چکیده

In recent years, the larval stage of Hermetia illucens, commonly known as black soldier fly (BSFL), has been used to promote circularity agri-food sector by bioconverting organic waste into biomass which a livestock feed. A secondary byproduct this process is frass that can be an fertilizer. This study compared two different plant-based diets on characteristics well performance, nutritional composition, and reduction efficiency. fruit/vegetable/bakery waste-based diet supplemented with brewery (FVBB) was control Gainesville (GV) reference fed BSFL under standard conditions. The results demonstrated NPK some macro micronutrients in both frasses are comparable commercially available fertilizers. It shown microorganisms present from inhibit mycelial growth several plant pathogens through production antifungal and/or anti-oomycetes compound(s) (antibiosis). also had positive effect individual mass (162.11 mg), bioconversion rate (13.32%), crude lipid (35.99% dry matter) content. reared reduced feedstock matter 67.76% very short time (10 days), promising solution for food management.

Modulation of nutrient composition of black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) larvae by feeding seaweed-enriched media

Black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) larvae are a promising source of protein and lipid for animal feeds. The nutritional composition of the BSF larvae depend partly on the composition of the feeding medium. The BSF lipid profile in part mimics the feeding media lipid profile, and micronutrients, like minerals and vitamins, can readily accumulate in black soldier fly larvae. However, investiga...

Bioconversion of dairy manure by black soldier fly (Diptera: Stratiomyidae) for biodiesel and sugar production.

Modern dairies cause the accumulation of considerable quantity of dairy manure which is a potential hazard to the environment. Dairy manure can also act as a principal larval resource for many insects such as the black soldier fly, Hermetia illucens. The black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) are considered as a new biotechnology to convert dairy manure into biodiesel and sugar. BSFL are a common colo...

Growth performance, feed Utilization and body composition of nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus (Linnaeus, 1758) fed with different levels of black soldier fly, Hermetia illucens (Linnaeus, 1758) maggot meal diet

In this study, fish meal (FM) was replaced by the black soldier fly maggot meal (BSFM) with replacement levels at 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. The feeding trial was conducted for 56 days and the effect of each replacement level on the growth performance, feed utilization, body composition and survival of the experimental fish was assessed. All the experimental diets were well accepted by the fis...

Susceptibility of black soldier fly (Diptera: Stratiomyidae) larvae and adults to four insecticides.

Dosage-mortality regressions were determined for black soldier fly, Hermetia illucens (L.), larvae fed cyromazine or pyriproxifen treated media. Cyromazine LC50 for larvae dying before becoming prepupae ranged from 0.25 to 0.28 ppm with dosage-mortality regression slopes between 5.79 and 12.04. Cyromazine LC50s for larvae dying before emergence ranged from 0.13 to 0.19 ppm with dosage-mortality...
